Alissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in anxiety, self-esteem, and relationships. She has a strong interest in exploring a person's thoughts and feelings and understanding the biological, societal, and psychological factors in their lives that contribute to them. As an anxious person herself, she deeply understands the pain that comes with experiencing persistent anxiety and self-doubt, and she knows the level in which it can impact any and all relationships in life. Having confronted this within herself has given her the profound ability to access the parts within that are already built into us. She is motivated by the beauty that is found only by understanding and accepting the pain that we live. Through collaborative psychotherapy, Alissa believes you can accomplish a greater sense of self awareness, the ability to reflect more constructively, and a greater sense of control over your whole self. She is trained in various therapeutic techniques, and most enjoys utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), Gottman Method, and Attachment-Based Therapy. Alissa is confident in her ability to serve and support you by meeting you where you’re at in your mental health journey. In creating an open and safe space where anxiety and reflection (or sometimes humor) can meet, she's hopeful that together you can break down your existing barriers and find growth!
Hi there, you! I don't know you yet, but I'm so glad you've decided to start therapy for the first time, or restart therapy because you understand how valuable reflection and self awareness is to your wellbeing and growth! If you've been feeling stressed and anxious, if you're confused about how to manage day-to-day life and are feeling inadequate about it, or if you're struggling to trust yourself in life because you've lost (or have never discovered) your sense of purpose, then say no more! Just kidding, tell me more and more until we can make sense of it as a team. I understand you may be feeling in the trenches. Together we can explore, self discover, and feel empowered in learning about who you truly are, perhaps for the first time. I'm certainly looking forward to it!
