About Annie | She/her

Annie Hawkinson has a Masters Degree in Social Work from Boston College and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts. She specializes in working with adults ages 18 and up who are going through significant life events and coping with the anxiety, loneliness, and self-doubt that can come along with them. Through a relational and strengths-based lens, Annie helps her clients work through challenging or traumatic moments from their past that are holding them back from fully embracing the present. With an understanding of the impact that trauma and stress have on both the mind and the body, Annie takes a holistic approach as a therapist. Depending on a client’s individual needs, she’ll draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness based practices. Annie is certified in the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method, and can incorporate yoga into sessions for clients who are interested. Annie is in the process of becoming certified in Trauma-Conscious Reproductive Health for Mind, Embodiment, and Soul. She especially enjoys working with college students and clients who are pregnant or postpartum. When she’s not working, you can find Annie reading, practicing yoga, baking, and spending time with her family.

Message to clients

At pivotal moments in your life, you may feel lost or overwhelmed. You may notice that you feel disconnected from those around you, reminded of previous traumatic experiences, or so caught up in worrying about the future that you find it hard to remain in the present. If you're looking to move forward with confidence and purpose, we'll identify thought patterns that are holding you back so you can live a life you love. I strive to create a warm and non-judgmental space where you can show up as your authentic self. I believe that all emotions, even the painful ones, are important, and that healing occurs when we greet our emotions with a sense of curiosity and compassion. My hope is that my clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. You are the expert in your own experiences, and it’s my job to walk alongside you as a compassionate witness. Together, we’ll collaborate to identify goals that are aligned with your core values, and implement a plan to help you nurture your truest self.
