About
Camilla Mason, RMHCI, is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in Florida and the founder of For Ami Counseling, a private-pay therapy practice supporting adult women healing from difficult childhood experiences and trauma. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Spelman College and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, where she received advanced training in trauma-informed and integrative care. Camilla practices under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor. Camilla specializes in working with clients who feel overwhelmed, emotionally activated, or stuck in patterns rooted in past experiences. Many of the women she supports appear high-functioning on the outside while carrying anxiety, emotional dysregulation, identity confusion, relational struggles internally, and grief. Her work focuses on helping clients understand how trauma lives in both the mind and body, and how nervous system patterns continue to shape present-day reactions. Her therapeutic approach is relational, attuned, and body-based, integrating EMDR (EMDRIA-trained), Brainspotting, somatic skills informed by the Basic Principles of Somatic Experiencing™, CPT, and psychodynamic therapy. At For Ami Counseling, therapy is offered as a warm, grounded space where emotions are welcomed and healing is paced with care. Camilla is committed to helping clients cultivate greater regulation, clarity, self-trust, and emotional freedom.

Message to clients
If you’re here, there’s a good chance you’re tired of holding everything together on the outside while your body carries the weight on the inside. Maybe you grew up in an environment where chaos, emotional inconsistency, or survival was the norm, and now—despite how capable you appear—you feel anxious, activated, or disconnected from yourself. You might notice patterns repeating in your relationships, emotions that feel too big, or a constant sense of tension that never fully settles. I work with adult women who are ready to understand why these patterns exist—and gently shift them. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and body-based, grounded in the belief that healing happens when we address not only thoughts, but the nervous system and the stories the body still holds. I integrate EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic skills, CPT, and psychodynamic therapy to support healing when talking alone isn’t enough. In our work together, you don’t need to have the right words or know where to start. I offer a warm, attuned space where your emotions are welcomed, your experiences are honored, and your healing is paced with care. This is a place where tears are safe, curiosity is encouraged, and growth unfolds intentionally. If you’re longing for more calm, clarity, and a deeper sense of self-trust, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward emotional freedom and the woman you’re becoming.
