About Charity | She/her

Charity is a trauma therapist who practices holistic trauma healing on Lenape land along the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. A cat mom, chicken mom, avid tea drinker and gardener of native plants, she loves guiding people on their journey to healing trauma through EMDR intensives and solo healing retreats that blend trauma processing, parts work, and body based interventions. Her passion is helping people heal childhood trauma, sexual trauma, and grief. Charity has an online course, Tea With a Trauma Therapist, designed to teach people about healing from trauma, and her first book is being published in May 2023 in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. Charity is an EMDRIA certified EMDR therapist, and she is certified in IFS Informed EMDR and Trauma Processing Yoga.

Message to clients

Intensive trauma therapy offers a holistic and efficient way for you to find healing from your history of trauma. Using EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and somatic approaches, we will set aside 3 to 5 days to hold space for your story of trauma and to create a new story for your future. By reprocessing distressing memories through bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps to integrate traumatic experiences and promote healing at a deep level. Instead of needing to open and close your story each week like in traditional therapy, I will hold space gently and safely over an extended period of time with your trauma and all the parts of you that have held it. During the intensive retreat, you will stay in a beautiful retreat cottage along the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. In addition to trauma therapy, you will be offered opportunities to participate in trauma-sensitive yoga, movement therapy, ecotherapy, massage therapy, aromatherapy, sound therapy, art therapy, and more. You will work with Charity to determine your specific agenda based on your preferences and needs for your retreat. At your EMDR Intensive Therapy Retreat, you’ll embark on a holistic healing journey and be guided with compassion every step of the way. Each retreat is carefully designed to create a safe and supportive environment for transformation.
