About Emily | She/her

Emily Abraham, LCSW (she/her) is a licensed therapist, helping individuals, couples, and family members cultivate more compassionate and values-driven connections with themselves and each other. Her areas of focus include relationship dissatisfaction, relational trauma, anxiety, disordered eating, and issues around self-worth. She is based in Los Angeles and also sees clients virtually throughout California and Colorado. Her approach is relational and compassion-focused, grounded in curiosity about the relational, cultural, and intergenerational factors that impact the way people understand and navigate the world. She also incorporates expressive arts therapy, supporting those navigating emotional challenges in deepening their awareness, building coping tools, and communicating their needs. Emily currently facilitates support groups for LGBTQIA+ and Jewish community members and has worked with clients from various cultural backgrounds. She deeply respects the courage it takes to consider therapy and views it as a privilege to be a part of her clients’ journeys.

Message to clients

If you’ve found yourself struggling with relationship challenges, anxiety, overthinking, or self-judgment, please know that you do not need to navigate this alone. My goal is to be a consistent, collaborative partner in the hard work of showing up for yourself and your relationships. Together we will explore the different aspects of yourself, how you relate to them, and how these parts impact you, bringing forward the wisdom and capacity that is already within. I take a warm, honest, and relational approach in therapy. I know firsthand what it is like to move from critiquing and shaming our human experiences to witnessing them and showing ourselves compassion. I’m grateful that this process has also been able to help inform my work with others.

I would refer a family member to Emily as a therapist. She is kind, authentic and also knows how to hold boundaries when needed. She will push you, but in the most gentle and safe way. Anyone would be lucky to be able to work with her.

Emily is a kind, thoughtful, and intelligent therapist. She creates a space where clients feel safe and heard. I've had the pleasure of connecting with Emily through graduate school and a professional consultation group. I would recommend her services for anyone looking for a kind and supportive space to heal and grow.
