About
Farah is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New York State who works with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families navigating complex and tender moments, including trauma, intrapersonal and interpersonal conflict, grief, identity exploration, and major life transitions. Her clinical work is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a sincere, humane therapeutic connection. She helps clients understand how their sense of self, relationship patterns, culture, and family experiences shape the way they think, feel, and connect with others. In therapy, she supports clients in exploring their internal narratives, deepening insight into longstanding patterns, and developing more compassionate and flexible ways of relating to themselves and others. Her approach is both reflective and practical, helping clients move toward meaningful change. Farah has professional experience across university counseling centers, outpatient clinics, crisis centers, school-based settings, and foster care systems, which informs her ability to work with diverse populations. Her areas of specialty include marital and premarital counseling, relationship challenges, intergenerational trauma, life transitions, immigration and adjustment, international student concerns, anxiety, depression, caregiver burnout, stress management, and self-esteem. Her goal is to create a safe and grounded therapeutic space where individuals, couples, and families can build resilience, foster insight, and move toward more connected and meaningful ways of living.

Message to clients
I believe that we are constantly making meaning of our experiences. The ways you interpret what has happened to you shape how you see yourself, how you understand others, and how you move through the world. Over time, these meanings become patterns in thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships - often outside of awareness. In our work together, I support you in slowing down and deeply exploring your experiences, how you’ve made sense of them, how they’ve shaped your perception, and how they continue to influence your present. We look at patterns in behavior and relationships, and how earlier experiences may still be echoing in current dynamics. The focus is on understanding how your past informs your present in a way that brings clarity, not judgment. I work best with individuals and couples who are reflective, curious about themselves, and interested in increasing awareness of both self and others. This process often involves making sense of patterns, understanding relational dynamics, and increasing awareness of internal experiences. Many of the clients I work with also appreciate psychoeducation and a collaborative process where we connect insight to practical change. I tailor this work to where you are and what feels most relevant for you in the moment. If you are curious about your internal world, relationship patterns, and the meanings you’ve made from your experiences, and are open to both insight and change, I may be a good fit for you.
