About
Hilary Kopple is a licensed clinical social worker providing virtual psychotherapy for adults throughout New York. She specializes in working with young adults and professionals navigating anxiety, perfectionism, stress, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Hilary’s approach is collaborative, active, and grounded in evidence-based mind-body therapy. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (somatic), she helps clients better understand the patterns that keep them feeling stuck and develop tools to manage stress, calm the body, and create lasting change. With a background in both school and clinical settings, Hilary brings over two decades of experience supporting clients in cultivating self-awareness, resilience, and more balanced ways of living. She is known for her steady, engaged style and her ability to connect practical coping strategies with deeper emotional insight. Hilary holds a Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University and continues advanced training in IFS, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and trauma-informed care. Her work is especially attuned to high-achieving individuals who appear successful outwardly but struggle internally with self-pressure, worry, or disconnection. Hilary believes therapy is most effective when it’s both reflective and actionable, helping clients understand themselves more fully while building the confidence and flexibility to live with greater ease and authenticity.

Message to clients
If you’re someone who’s hard on yourself, always thinking about what you “should” be doing, or feeling anxious even when things seem fine, you’re not alone. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable people who hold themselves to high standards, yet still feel stuck, tense, or disconnected from their own sense of calm. You might find yourself replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, or feeling like your mind never really turns off. Maybe you appear composed on the outside, but inside it feels like you’re constantly managing worry, pressure, or the sense that you’re falling short. In therapy, we’ll take time to understand what’s fueling those patterns and how to bring more balance, self-compassion, and steadiness into your daily life. I’ll help you build awareness of what’s happening beneath the surface and learn practical ways to regulate your body, quiet your thoughts, and reconnect with yourself. My style is steady, collaborative, and active. I’ll meet you where you are and help you move toward lasting change. Our work is about helping you feel clearer, lighter, and more at ease, not by pushing harder, but by learning to relate to yourself in a gentler, more grounded way. If you’re ready for things to feel less heavy and more manageable, I’d be honored to support you in getting there.
