About
Jean is here to support you with empathy, compassion and expertise. As an experienced, certified EMDR therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant with extensive training in advanced EMDR techniques, somatic approaches such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Polyvagal Therapy and Brainspotting, and attachment-focused therapies like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS) and Imaginal Nurturing, I believe in addressing root causes and facilitating healing from the inside out. My approach is client-centered, compassion-focused and strengths-based. I’m passionate about helping people lead their best lives and thrive. Talk therapy can be helpful, but sometimes it’s not enough. Because “the body keeps the score,” we need to help our mind, body and emotions all get on the same page so we can put overwhelming and painful experiences in the past and focus on feeling good in the present. EMDR—a leading evidence-based therapy for processing overwhelming or traumatic experiences—can be powerfully life-changing! Customized EMDR Intensives can be an efficient and powerful way to get the permanent change you want in a lot less time than weekly therapy.

Message to clients
You feel exhausted from running in circles. You try so hard, but you still can’t shake the feeling. You over-schedule, over-commit, and always keep yourself busy. You listen to podcasts about stress and time management, but still have a hard time relaxing and having fun because your brain won’t shut off. You haven’t had a good night’s sleep in ages, and you never feel rested. Maybe you … * Can’t stop thinking about an incident or situation—to the point where it’s hard to focus when usually you are on top of everything. * Watch yourself overreact to people and situations and don’t know how to stop. * Zone out and feel like you’re watching yourself from afar at a meeting or social event. Or maybe you lose hours at a time binging Netflix or getting lost in games or social media on your phone. * Spend lots of time worrying about other people’s behavior, motivation, and what they might be thinking about you. Say “yes” even when you don’t want to. * Know that you have so much more potential, but end up feeling exhausted. It feels like no matter what you do, you’ll never be “good enough.” EMDR may be a good fit for you if you … * Wonder why your old stuff keeps showing up at work and with family and friends? * Notice yourself having big reactions with certain people and situations or constantly feel jumpy or on the lookout for danger. * Have panic attacks, feel overwhelmed, stressed out or tired, shut down, and numb. * Feel like you’re always spinning your wheels, never able to relax and have fun, or unable to focus or get things done. * Cope with nightmares, flashbacks, and bad images that get stuck in your mind. I work well with clients who … * Are motivated and insightful * Are creative and curious about themselves and the world * Are open to new ways of doing therapy * Are looking for long-term change and embrace the idea that healing is a journey * Want to experience more joy and savor meaningful moments in life
