About Kat | She/her

Kat Vollono is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in New York, NY. Kat specializes in helping women and highly sensitive women (HSP), with relationship issues, perfectionism, and identifying a greater sense of meaning or purpose in their lives. Kat is a trauma-informed therapist who supports clients as they make sense of painful past experiences and grow from developing greater self-awareness and insight into their lives. Kat’s approach to therapy draws from many evidence-based therapy modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, somatic therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Kat first creates an atmosphere that is warm, compassionate, and safe for clients to talk vulnerably about what’s on their minds. She builds strong trust with her clients and leans on this relationship to mirror back the clients’ words and ideas. Clients learn how to identify negative thought patterns that lead to pain, guilt, fear, and self criticism. Kat earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She has over a decade of experience working with and supporting clients. Kat has also been featured in books and major media sources such as Brandon Stosuy’s book Sad Happens: A Celebration of Tears, Bustle, The Zoe Report, and Scary Mommy.

Message to clients

Do you feel deeply yet still struggle to feel understood? Are you holding fear and resentment in your closest relationships? I help highly sensitive people navigate relationships. Does this sound like you? You will learn to connect with yourself to know and articulate your needs, boundaries, and desires while still honoring your sensitivity. Imagine feeling truly heard, your emotions respected, and your voice amplified in every relationship. Together, we'll unravel the complexities, empower your self-expression, and cultivate deeper, more meaningful connections. Hi, I'm Kat. I use somatic practices, talk therapy, nervous system rewiring, and evidence-based EMDR mini and full day intensives and groups. I specialize in working with women with relationship anxiety, HSP relationship needs, and financial anxiety, guilt, and shame. When you reach out you will have the opportunity to let me know what you are hoping to work on, make sure we are a good fit, and I will provide a highly customized approach tailored specifically to your most urgent needs. I look forward to meeting you.
