Katie Bernard is a practical and effective therapist who compassionately treats those struggling with anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, and emotional dysregulation. She helps her clients tame their overthinking and get off their emotional rollercoasters. She uses a blend of evidence-based approaches, such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to help her clients create meaningful, real-world change with lasting results. She uses a person-centered approach and works to create a judgement free therapy space. In addition to individual therapy, Katie worked in the hospice setting, helping patients and loved ones navigate change, grief, and family issues. Currently, Katie works with clients over secure video sessions. She enjoys the flexibility and accessibility telehealth provides to her and her clients and also appreciates that her dog, Molly, can hang out during sessions.
Overthinking, fear, and emotional ups and downs can make you feel like you’re drowning, unable to come up for air. When you’re flooded by anxiety, life, fears, or your emotions, therapy itself can seem daunting. I’m here for you- I’m here to meet you where you’re at and compassionately guide you to where you want to be. Yes, therapy is work, but we’ll work together to create growth and change that fits into your life. I’m nurturing and compassionate and also practical and proactive. I want my clients to feel seen and heard while also walking away with real tools and insights. You don’t have to suffer or struggle. It is possible to feel more balanced and in control. To feel better about yourself and have healthier relationships. I can help you turn down the overthinking and get off the emotional roller coaster. Joy, stability, and an intentional life is possible. In my work as a therapist and hospice social worker, I have helped many people find joy and peace, even in the face of difficulty. My clients walk away from our time together with more control over their emotions and mind, with excitement for life, healthier boundaries and relationships, feeling better about themselves, and feeling capable.
