Larissa House supports individual adults and couples in creating a compassionate and resilient emotional space for themselves where they can enjoy their lives and feel capable and strong. She has provided therapy to clients in nonprofits, at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and currently in private practice. Larissa is a Certified EMDR Therapist through the EMDR International Association and also certified in CBT through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Using these and other modalities, Larissa helps clients release past traumas and patterns that are keeping them feeling stuck so that they can feel confident, self-compassionate, and resilient in the present. She helps her clients develop practical tools to navigate their lives feeling capable and strong. In her work with couples, Larissa utilizes Gottman Therapy techniques and relationship tools to help couples improve their communication and connection so that they can create the relationship that they want to have with each other. Larissa enjoys supporting couples at all stages of love, whether they are dating, exploring deeper commitments, married, and dealing with life transitions (including becoming parents). She also specializes in supporting couples as they compassionately un-couple and close their chapter on their relationship, and she also supports them in navigating co-parenting and interacting respectfully so that they can give their shared child or children a sense of stability and love. Larissa is a multicultural individual with Filipino, Korean, Japanese, and African American heritage, and she is affirming of all people.
I want to help you heal your past traumas, grow your inner strength, and nurture the best version of yourself. I honor you as the expert in your life and want to collaborate with you to help you grow and achieve the goals that you have for yourself. I’m honored to work with incredible people, and I’m excited about helping you recognize how amazing you truly are. My guess is that you’re busy and that you don’t have a lot of time, energy, or money to waste on healing that isn’t going to work for you. I help my clients grow the lives that they want to have for themselves by creating clear goals, developing practical tools, and teaching them how to implement them in their lives, and I look forward to working with you to create a path to growing the way that you want to grow. Maybe today is one of those days where even the thought of putting one foot in front of the other feels exhausting and overwhelming. Or maybe today, you’re thinking about what living your best life looks like for you. No matter what kind of day it is today, I’m here to journey together with you.
