About
Leah Fox, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience in clinical practice. She provides telehealth psychotherapy in New York and Colorado, specializing in anxiety, trauma, attachment wounds, grief, identity transitions, and relationship patterns. Leah’s professional background integrates both education and mental health. Before becoming a psychotherapist, she worked in human development and education as a teacher, entrepreneur, and founding principal of a charter school. This foundation informs her structured, developmentally informed approach to therapy and her ability to translate complex psychological concepts into practical, accessible tools for change. She is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and has advanced training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based approaches, and somatic therapy. Leah integrates neuroscience and neuroplasticity research into her work, helping clients understand how personality patterns and emotional responses form as adaptive survival strategies within the nervous system. With over twenty years of experience studying and teaching the Enneagram, Leah brings deep expertise in personality structure and relational dynamics. She uses the Enneagram as a clinically grounded framework to help individuals and couples identify core patterns, understand their emotional triggers, and build sustainable pathways toward growth. Having grown up in a Buddhist community, Leah’s work is grounded in contemplative philosophy, emphasizing presence, compassion, and ego-structure transcendence as foundations for healing. Her approach is integrative, relational, and grounded in both evidence-based practice and a compassionate understanding of the human experience.

In order to cope I learned early on to be the steady one. The reliable one. The one others lean on. And yet, privately I would spin out over uncertainties and felt heavy with exhaustion. Many of us live our lives carrying more than our share of responsibility. We feel anxious beneath competence. Or notice that in close relationships, we either over-function or pull inward when things feel uncertain. I work with thoughtful, high-functioning adults who don’t lack insight — they lack integration. You understand your patterns. The question is why they still activate under stress. I’m on this path too. I understand how early survival strategies can evolve into endless doing and achievement — and how those same strategies can quietly narrow our emotional flexibility. Growth doesn’t come from dismantling our competence. It comes from expanding our capacity for safety beyond performance. My work integrates EMDR, somatic awareness, neuroscience, Internal Family Systems, and the Enneagram to help you map your nervous system patterns and build change that is sustainable. Structured, collaborative, and depth-oriented — without losing practicality. If you’re longing to move beyond managing symptoms and toward lasting integration, I would be honored to work with you.
