About Natasha | She/her

Natasha is a Muslim woman of Indo-Caribbean descent who is the oldest daughter of immigrant parents. She has lived the struggle of navigating multiple minority identities. Natasha creates a space where you can share without feeling judged or misunderstood because of your culture or religion. She has the cultural and psychological knowledge that helps bridge the gap between mental health care and your specific needs. She understands that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so all parts of you and your circumstances are taken into consideration to help address your concerns. Natasha takes the time to learn about your culture, upbringing, and other identities, to understand how they contribute to who you are, how you view the world, your concerns, as well as how you cope. You are also invited to take the lead during therapy as you are the expert on yourself as one of her goals is to help you feel empowered. She will work with you to understand and unlearn thought patterns that are getting in your way to help you get to the root of the issue and create effective and long-lasting change. You will be equipped with skills and knowledge that you can use throughout your life to continuously accomplish your goals! Natasha is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in Maryland and Virginia. She has a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and is a National Certified Counselor. Natasha offers CBT, Faith-Based therapy, and Brainspotting to help clients accomplish their goals. She is a Brainspotting Certified Counselor and has completed all four Phases of Brainspotting training.

Message to clients

You’re seeking to understand your past, reduce worries about the future and begin living authentically. You’re looking for someone who gets it from experience, someone you don’t have to count on to learn about your identity from the outside. Your culture, experiences, and even religion can impact your mental health, but can also help you heal. You’re trying to balance your multiple identities and you want to understand how they can exist in harmony. At the very least, you want to work with someone who understands your different identities and how they play a significant role in your life. You don’t want your culture overlooked in therapy. After all, your culture impacts everything - your thoughts, your feelings, your upbringing, your family interactions, and your worldview. Let’s explore your culture, upbringing, and identities to understand how they formed who you are, your worldview, and concerns. You are more than your problems and context matters!

Peer review

Natasha is one of the most exceptional clinicians I have studied and worked with. Her commitment to multiculturalism and to expanding her repertoire for healing have allowed her to do some great work with her clients. Natasha adds a valuable perspective to any group or agency that she is a part of, and others around her have often learned a lot from her work. Natasha continues to grow and expand as a clinician and I have no doubt that her work will speak for itself.

Natasha works hard. She exemplifies her empathy as she follows clients in their stories, meeting them where they are while leaving room for more. She is a creative practitioner and strives for knowledge.
