Rebecca has been a professional social worker for over 23 years, graduating with a Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University in 2001. Rebecca values the background social work has given her as she has worked with diverse populations and situations and learned to respect and value all clients as experts in their lives. Rebecca is licensed to serve clients in both Texas and Tennessee, and primarily works with women struggling with anxiety-related disorders (GAD, OCD) and trauma-related disorders (PTSD). She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-Level 2), which allows her to provide competent trauma-focused care to the women she serves. Rebecca provides a great deal of psychoeducation as part of her work teaching clients to understand their emotions and behavior, so they can create the changes they desire. Rebecca has a warm, gentle, but direct approach to therapy. She is a good listener and seeks to understand. Her clients say they like the way she uses humor to approach difficult subjects, and they appreciate her willingness to incorporate Christian faith and practice into their therapy when asked.
Do you struggle with anxiety that affects your daily life and your most important relationships? Do you feel overwhelmed and unsettled by all your responsibilities and pressure to measure up? Do you wonder if it’s possible to worry less and feel content? Now more than ever, women are struggling under the weight of their mental load. With increased expectations in our various roles, anxiety often results. I offer support and tools to help you discover the source of your anxiety, work with you to process the ways anxiety is interfering in your life and relationships, and work with you to create a plan to decrease overwhelm and mental load so you can begin to feel better and find your joy again. I offer trauma-informed Christian counseling. This means I honor the important role your faith plays in your life, while also honoring the advances in science that help us better understand the ways we process experiences and emotion.
