For over a decade Rebecca has supported people's healing journeys offering Insight-Driven Depth Therapy. Her specialty is using depth therapy approaches to treat anxiety, depression, and trauma in 1:1 therapy sessions with individuals. These areas can also often be related to low self-esteem, over-giving, people pleasing, burnout, stress, overwhelm, perfectionism, feeling empty or lost, among other experiences. Rebecca provides a variety of different evidence-based approaches to help clients face their challenges in their own unique way. Some of these approaches include Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Schema Therapy, Jungian Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). In addition to traditional talk therapy she offers additional (optional) therapeutic treatments including Brainspotting Therapy, Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapy, and Dream Analysis/Therapy. Rebecca is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist (MSW/RSW), and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). She has two masters-level clinical counselling degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University: a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Spiritual Care & Psychotherapy.
I am honoured your journey has brought you to Smart Therapy. Perhaps you are experiencing emotional distress and would appreciate some support at this time. I support individuals in overcoming anxiety, depression, and trauma; to develop self compassion, navigate family and relationship dynamics, establish boundaries, improve their mood experiences, and regulate their nervous systems. I use a client centered approach, meaning we work towards what you personally are hoping to get out of your therapy time. I aim to help guide clients through their own personal therapeutic transformation. I believe insight and understanding are key to living a rich, meaningful, and fulfilling life. I am excited to learn about you; I feel privileged to be able to meet with you and to support you in taking healing steps to move forward.

Rebecca is kind-hearted, deeply compassionate, and genuinely engaging. She extends care and empathy openly and willingly. Rebecca supports her clients' journeys into depth from a variety of approaches. This is a true cornerstone of her desire to witness people's healing and explorations. Rebecca' gentle approach is profoundly based on nurturing people's abilities to face themselves in ways that promote resolution and life-affirmative presence.
As her clinical supervisor, Rebecca’s performance reflected a capable psychotherapist who did very well in meeting the needs of her caseload. Rebecca worked very hard to develop her clinical skills by working with individuals from a diverse and complex population. Rebecca was always ready to learn new therapeutic models, clinical strategies and apply them in a very successful manner. Rebecca regularly attended her supervision meetings and presented a positive attitude when receiving feedback from me in terms of her clinical interventions. Rebecca has been able to pay close attention to transference and countertransference issues and successfully to reflect on them. I enjoyed the opportunity to be her clinical supervisor.
Sharp, quick witted and deeply compassionate with a good dose of funny and unconventional. I enjoy how Rebecca works but even more I enjoy her as a human. People come to her for therapy but they experience a unique journey.
