Message to clients

I know you didn’t get the “happily ever after” you were promised. Whether you are a new parent, the “therapist” in your family, struggling with depression and anxiety, or dread turning into your parents, life didn’t go as promised and it is far from what you planned. My clients struggled. Despite being intelligent and successful women, they consistently showed up for others but had trouble understanding and prioritizing their needs; they didn’t know how to ask for help and ultimately felt overwhelmed or burnt out. They couldn’t be present or enjoy the moment and were constantly worrying and overthinking. They were disconnected from most people in their lives. They struggled in silence because they were usually the one “with their shit together” and were desperately looking for relief. Before they came to see me, my clients wondered if therapy was right for them or if they truly needed it because they were used to figuring things out on their own. They worried that opening up a new person would be impossible because they are typically weary of new people. And they were pretty certain that a therapist would dismiss their feelings or urge them to look into medication. They were the leaders and caretakers in their communities who were suffering in silence. Like my clients, you deserve a soft place to land to be seen and heard without feeling ashamed or guilty. Re-discovering your favorite version of you is not out of your reach. I can help.
