About Solasta | He/they

Solasta "Sol" McIntyre is an LMFT specialized in helping multi-divergent individuals and couples to heal, thrive and shine. He is particularly passionate about helping anyone wanting to heal complex symptoms by reconnecting to the body and reclaiming a strong sense of Self. They are an AuDHD Bigender Lesbian Survivor committed to serving his community. He sees therapy as a laboratory for compassionate, courageous, intentional change and uses their clinical expertise and lived experience to walk alongside clients in their journey. He uses a variety of modalities to cater to the unique needs of each person, but draws most heavily upon Somatic Psychology, Internal Family Systems and Attachment-based therapies to heal at the root of suffering holistically. They are a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist and Clinical Trauma Professional (Level II) In Training, who has completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and Reiki Levels I & II from the Yandara Yoga Institute. Sol's therapeutic journey began after seeking treatment for a lifelong eating disorder during their career as a professional dancer. This experience introduced him to Somatics - a field that centers the MindBody connection and how trauma, resilience and joy lives in the body. They studied at the CIIS in one of the only Somatic Psych programs in the world. After receiving a late-in-life AuDHD diagnosis, he focused his work on supporting folks with complex trauma, co-occurring diagnoses, and neurodivergent brains after seeing how poorly served his community was and how completely possible change was if given quality client-centered care.

Message to clients

Ever feel like existing is hard? Are you often interrupted and derailed by thoughts and images of the past and future? Do you find it hard to stay present with joy? Are you having a hard time changing patterns? Maybe you’re tired of feeling at odds with your body and the world? Somatic - IFS - Attachment Psychotherapy is about tending to the Whole Person in order to change for good and is especially helpful for the many expressions of trauma such as anxiety, depression, dissociation, disordered eating, perfectionism, workaholism and people pleasing. It is useful for anyone with the courage to reconnect with the felt senses of the body and the desire to live a fully expressed life. Some of the benefits of this work includes being able to regulate your body and emotions, intentionally mask or unmask safely, and experience more joy, balance, strength, flexibility, creativity, compassion and intimacy in all areas of life. It helps with understanding and releasing automatic beliefs and behaviors, results in more satisfying relationships, and increases confidence in conflict, communication and holding boundaries. These changes result in a fortified intuition gilding you out of the shame keeping you small, afraid, defeated, and isolated. Healing is non-linear, but you will experience shifts immediately due to working bottom-up: sensations, emotions, then thoughts. From this, you'll access a well of information about yourself and foster compassion for your survival defenses, known as "parts" causing your inner conflict and outward distress. Over time, you'll learn to trust yourself again.

Solasta has a very in-depth and holistic way of understanding mental health needs and presentations. He's well versed in somatic and transpersonal frameworks, parts lenses, specialties in diverse neurotypes, and comprehension of identity formation processes. With these approaches, he's able to attune to clients' various aspects and needs. I've had the pleasure of collaborating on cases with Solasta and have seen how devoted he is to his clients. Clients are able to achieve significant and observable growth and healing with Solasta's care and support. Solasta also seeks ongoing learning and clinical consultations, to keep fine-tuning his skills.
