Troy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the field since 2015. Bilingual and from Los Angeles, he is experienced in providing care to a broad range of people in English and in Spanish. Troy has received training in several types of therapy that have been found to help people suffering from anxiety, phobias, panic, and insomnia. He is also passionate about helping people navigate changes in life, including in making important or difficult decisions. He has helped people address challenges in relationships, the end of friendships, job layoffs, preparing to discuss one's sexuality with family, and many other concerns.
I'm here to help you understand your distress, find relief, and move toward a life that is meaningful to you. My approach is both structured and flexible; I will suggest specific approaches for some concerns and keep our path more open-ended for others. I will also look to you for any preferences you have about the form our sessions take. My professional journey has taken me inside the criminal justice system and to Central America. As a therapist, I would love to help you develop more awareness, better cope with emotional pain, reexamine unhelpful beliefs about yourself, and clarify deeply-held values. When we meet, I focus on fostering an affirming and safe environment where you can express who you are and build on your strengths. You may also find my style to be collaborative, patient, and, at times, direct. Please visit my website for more information on my practice. I look forward to hearing from you.

Mr. Gabrielson thrives at providing clients with a safe holding environment to express their strong emotions. He is able to connect with empathy and without judgment. He is able to gently challenge his clients through questioning (via evidence-based practices) where they may arrive to their own conclusions in a more logical and rational way, as they make healthier changes and decisions. He has the ability to make a client feel like they have his undivided attention.
Troy sees multiple layers of what might be happening with clients and helps them explore. He is open about his own life experiences that contribute to his worldview and how that impacts the therapy experience. He has tips and tools if that's what is desired, as well as the ability to dive deeper with clients about their history and how life has shown up for them.
I highly recommend Troy as a therapist due to his exceptional ability to create a safe and supportive environment for his clients. His empathetic approach, combined with his extensive knowledge and expertise, ensures that each session is both insightful and transformative. Troy's dedication to personalizing therapy to meet individual needs helps clients achieve meaningful progress and lasting change. If you're seeking a compassionate and effective therapist, Troy is an excellent choice.
