About
Dr. Siegel has over 32 years of experience working as a clinical psychologist. The majority of his career was spent at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, where he provided comprehensive, evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention for a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, substance use, sleep problems, chronic pain, personality disorders, and psychosis. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Siegel served as the overall Director of Training for the APA-accredited doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency training programs. During his tenure in this position, he had the honor of providing clinical supervision and mentorship to more than 300 psychology interns and postdoctoral residents. Since retiring from his position at the VA, Dr. Siegel has continued to serve as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota's Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program, teach graduate-level courses at local psychology doctoral programs, hold volunteer leadership roles involved in the national management and coordination of psychology training and education such as APPIC (Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers) and APA (The American Psychological Association), and the Minnesota Board of Law Examiners. On a more personal note, Dr. Siegel has a passion for travel and enjoys the thrill of discovering new culinary adventures and restaurants. Cooking, art, and photography are creative outlets that he cherishes, along with a love for nature and outdoor activities. His commitment to health and an active lifestyle is evident in his lifelong engagement with endurance sports, including marathon running, cycling, ironman triathlons, and hiking. These pursuits not only challenge him physically but also provide a strong sense of accomplishment and joy.
